A close friend of Alwyn Chamberlain (253201).
|
I traced Alfie's widow, Dot, via the Service Pals page on C4's Teletext service back in 1999. It was an incredible stroke of luck. She was hen visiting the UK from New Zealand where the couple had emigrated after the war. Alfie had died only a few months before I traced her. She provided me with a portrait photograph of Aflie and some good snippets of information which she remembered from his war stories about the camps.
