The Stalag 8C German POW Identity Tag of Pte Percy Wilson, 16 DLI |

This German POW identity tag was assigned to Pte Percy Wilson of the DLI (4468279) in late 1943 at Stalag 8C with the German POW number 75509. Wilson was serving in A Company, the 16th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, when he was captured at Sedjenane, Tunisia, in February-early March 1943. Percy Wilson was a POW in Italy, at camps as yet unknown before his transfer to Germany. In Germany, he eventually ended up working at a sugar factory. Image courtesy of Barrie Wilson. |
